A series of pop-up exhibitions made for and by the community of Flickr members in Brazil.
The Flickr Nights was a series of pop up exhibitions made by and for Flickr’s online community of amateur and professional photographers.
As Community Manager for the Portuguese speaking countries at Flickr, I was responsible for many engagement and moderation activities on the photo sharing site. The Flickr Nights was one of the many initiatives to bring the interactions on the website to the physical world.
The event started with the announcement on the Flickr blog of a theme for people to submit their contributions. The most interesting photos or illustrations were printed and included in the exhibitions. Following the collaborative spirit of the online community, members could show up voluntarily to help with the set mounting.
In addition to being the spokes person for the brand, and the facilitator during the events, I also helped with PR efforts. As a result, the Flickr Nights was featured on television channels such as MTV, Multishow and TV Cultura.
